Pair of Orlando Diaz-Azcuy Chalice Chairs 1985c.
Crafted from premium solid cherrywood, the Chalice Chair features a distinctive square-back silhouette with elegant fluted side detailing. The chair is upholstered in leather the fixed seat cushion has a double topstitch running parallel along a French seam.
These chairs exemplify the refined craftsmanship and architectural sensibility for which Orlando Diaz-Azcuy became known.

An award-winning design by Orlando Diaz-Azcuy, the Chalice Chair was created for Hickory Business Furniture (HBF) in 1985. The design combines clean geometric lines with subtle Art Deco influences, resulting in a chair that is both sculptural and comfortable. Its solid wood construction, generous proportions, and meticulous detailing make it equally suitable for residential interiors, executive offices, and design collections. The Chalice Chair remains one of Diaz-Azcuy's most recognizable furniture designs and is highly sought after by collectors of late 20th-century American design.
