20th Century Italian Gilt Florentine Wall Mirror, Italy circa 1950

$ 5,600
  • Description
    Monumental, one of a kind gilt Florentine mirror from the mid century period around 1940/50 in Italy. This absolute extraordinary looking 20th century Italian Florentine mirror impresses with its massive artfully, open worked frame showing a gorgeous looking floral theme with handcarved acanthus leaves and a large shell in the top center. A real dreamlike, large masterpiece of a so-called "Florentine" mirror which has been part of the inventory of an old stately countryside villa in the beautiful era of the famous Tuscany in Central Italy. The lovely gilt surface shows a charming patina and confers this incredible early 20th century mirror a very glamorous and luxurious appearance. The mirror plate has been renewed during the cleaning/ restoration process since it was already blind.
