1976 Charles Hollis Jones (USA 1945-2026) Signed Lucite and Glass Coffee Table

A striking vintage Lucite and glass coffee table designed and manufactured in Los Angeles by celebrated American designer Charles Hollis Jones (1945–2026). Hand-signed by the designer and dated 1976, this sculptural cocktail table exemplifies the glamorous transparency and architectural precision that defined Jones’s work during the height of 1970s Hollywood modernism.

The substantial solid-Lucite frame features a geometric, faceted silhouette with clipped corners, broad panel legs and a fitted inset glass top. Its transparent construction gives the table a visually weightless presence while retaining impressive scale and substance—an excellent choice for interiors where maintaining an open sightline is important.

Jones was a pioneering figure in American acrylic furniture and became widely known as the “King of Lucite.” After relocating from Indiana to Los Angeles as a teenager, he developed an influential body of work favored by Hollywood clients, architects and interior designers. His furniture is closely associated with Hollywood Regency, Mid-Century Modern and 1970s California design. Condition
Vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. The Lucite displays surface scratches, nicks, abrasions, areas of cloudiness and age-related crazing or crackling, including concentrated areas along the frame and joints.
