Description
Paolo Buffa Att. Italian Gilt Wood Large Mirror, circa 1950
A fine and elegant Italian gilded wood wall mirror, of grand scale, Attributed to Paolo Buffa, defined by its dynamic trapezoidal form and gently curved, arched crest. The giltwood frame with subtle reeding reflects the sophisticated Neoclassical modernism pioneered by the Italian master Paolo Buffa during the 1950's. The frame tapers gracefully downward, creating an elongated silhouette that draws the eye upward while maximizing light. The large mirror plate, original, with a dramatic thick beveled edge which mimics the shape of the frame. Designed to add architecturally grounded elegance and reflection to any interior style, commanding an entryway, bedroom, or living room. With its original wood back support.
