Rare pair of “Mushroom” wall sconces, model 2770/55, designed by Elio Martinelli and manufactured in Italy.
Each sconce features a large circular white diffuser with a gently convex profile, centered by a contrasting bright orange disc. The simple concentric composition gives the design a striking graphic quality, characteristic of Italian Space Age lighting of the period.
When illuminated, the translucent white diffuser produces a soft, atmospheric glow, while the opaque orange center creates a bold focal point. The combination of pure geometry, rounded volumes and vivid color gives the sconces a distinctly sculptural presence, both lit and unlit.
