Large Oil Painting of Christmas Cactus on Board

Offered by: Fireside Antiques

Description
Dimensions: 25 ½” H x 32” W x 1” D

This large oil painting of a potted Christmas cactus against a yellow-green background is the perfect piece to brighten up a space. It is painted on a board that has been mounted on a wooden cradle, ready for you to attach hardware and hang in your home. The composition is simple but lively with bright red flowers complemented by their vivid green leaves and background. The expressive brushwork lends a sense of energy and movement to the composition. One can almost feel the breeze that sends the plant dancing in its terracotta pot. The paint is in good physical condition with no signs of flaking or loss. The artist’s signature can be found in the bottom right corner with the date, 1951. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition or reach out with any questions.
