Operating fluidly between the realms of two- and three-dimensional art, Tom Henderson is celebrated for his dynamic explorations of minimalist form, light, and industrial material. The Ode series exemplifies his sculptural sensibility through the use of concentric, three-dimensional steel bands finished with bold spray paint. Mounted directly to the wall, these overlapping, hanging loops—painted in vibrant shades of green, blue, yellow, purple, and teal—protrude outward into the physical space of the viewer. As ambient light interacts with the colorful metal curves, the artwork casts intricate, shifting shadows against the wall, becoming an integral, ever-changing part of the composition.
