Description
Stunning, late 18th century wooden wall mirror from the so-called "Josephinism" period in Austria around 1790. This large, artfully carved nutwood mirror impresses with a unique design: beautiful ebonized corners with delicate round wooden applications and an elaborately carved middle section which runs around the entire frame, looking like an interwoven ribbon. This design/ pattern is very typical for wall mirrors from the late 18th century era, especially when it comes to "Josephinian" mirrors. The light nutwood frame comes with a semi gloss finish and just looks awesome combined with the black corners. A real remarkable late 18th century wall mirror, which was part of the inventory of a private owned castle over the last 230 years. This antique wall mirror comes in great restored condition with a renewed mirror plate, ready to beautify your home.
PLEASE NOTE: if you are interested in a pair of these lovely mirrors, we do also have the second matching mirror - please check out Ref. ID: BM-WM180 and get in touch for a special pair deal! -
