Carlton Hobbs specializes in the acquisition, conservation, and research of 17th, 18th and 19th century British and Continental furniture and works of art, with a focus on pieces of exceptional merit, including specially commissioned items with royal or aristocratic provenance and pieces designed by architects. Mr. Hobbs is well-known for his academic approach to the acquisition of historically significant pieces. He runs his gallery, Carlton Hobbs LLC, together with his longtime business partner, Stefanie Rinza, a graduate of Harvard Business School and former employee of McKinsey and Co. We have a research department that includes one of the most comprehensive specialist antiques archives of many thousand books and source materials. Some of the world’s most prestigious museums and private collections now house Carlton Hobbs’ pieces including: The Musée du Louvre, J. Paul Getty Museum, Rijksmuseum, The Met, National Gallery of Australia, The Boston MFA and many others. We have exhibited at TEFAF, Masterpiece, Fine Art Asia, SFFAS, AADLA Spring Show, Paris Biennale des Antiquaires, Grosvenor House, IFAADS and Winter Antiques Show.
