West Chelsea Residence
This apartment in its residential high-rise, designed by Annabelle Selldorf, is in Chelsea’s gallery district and consists of 2 bedrooms and 3,000 square feet. The design was conceived with everything reverting back to the owner’s love of entertaining. When designing this space, it was envisioned how it’d be used filled with people. This apartment was designed to comfortably house friends for cocktails or a holiday party for 200+. The main living area is designed with multiple seating groups to accommodate all sorts of entertaining. Though the large structural column in the middle of the living area presented a challenge, instead of trying to disguise or minimize it, Drake decided to embrace it and make a statement. A 6.5 foot square cabinet was built around it that houses a tv and media equipment on one side, floor to ceiling bookcase on another and closed storage on the other two.
