Traditional Elegance
This Mediterranean-style house in an exclusive coastal area of Orange County called Pelican Point was designed from top to bottom by Sheldon Harte for an executive in the fashion world who wanted traditional interiors. Mixing select antiques with luxurious furniture and fabrics, Harte created a "tailored" look, like his client's own fashion style. The interiors are elegant, not opulent, with dashes of formality and whimsy. The grills flanking the entry to the dining room are Asian-inspired, while the furnishings are European, many of them well-appointed antiques, including the living room rug from Mansour. The dining room displays a touch of Italy, with walls covered in luxurious Fortuny silk, and the master bedroom walls are sheathed in faux bamboo. The house has an abundance of outdoor loggias and a pool house – which Harte designed with furniture suitable for year-round entertaining.
