In designing this bedroom, Peter Pennoyer Architects assembled a palette inspired by the documentary wall and curtain upholstery fabric (Schumacher’s Le Castellet) and uplifted it with a citron twist. Bejeweled pillows, modern decorative paint applied to the historic fireplace surround and favorite antique pieces give the room a layered appeal that is enhanced by the mix of sisal and Swedish carpets. Artwork by Christina Burch and Christopher Flach lend flights of fancy to this enchanting space — a cozy welcome to a Parisian houseguest who plans to paint the town red.
