West Village
Photos by Ellen McDermott Photography
Completed in early 2019, TRC’s 160 Leroy project is an impressively pure example of interior designer, Tina Ramchandani’s signature aesthetic, soulful minimalism. Designed from start to finish for the new construction waterfront property in the West Village, Tina worked closely with her clients to create an urban vacation home.
“This space was designed to be a home away from home. For clients with permanent residence in Palm Beach, FL who spend much of their time in New York on business, the clients needed a harmonious space that evoked a sense of sophisticated tranquility,” says Ramchandani.
The soft color palette and customized artistic elements throughout the home induce a clean and modern feel while infusing interest and depth. As Ramchandani describes, “this home is full of custom pieces.” The rugs throughout were designed in partnership with Crosby Street Studios, and other custom features include the curved channel sofa in the living space, the bed in the master suite, the resin and concrete dining table positioned under the Rosei Li chandelier, and the Apparatus light fixtures in the master and living.
“The artistic elements are a focal point as we integrated many interesting pieces including the Statue of Liberty mosaic in the dining space, the beautiful Studio Van Den Akker curved coffee tables and the metal installation above the side table in the living space. My client was in love with the angles and curves of the building’s exterior architecture, which was a source of inspiration for what we created regarding the interior. We were in search of the perfect light fixture for above the dining table and after months of searching stumbled across Rosie Li chandelier which did the trick.” Ramchandani worked with the clients to select each unique piece for the space to create a relaxed, yet sophisticated home away from home.
