When Sam Allen was only nineteen years old, the profoundly influential interior designer Albert Hadley hand-picked him to participate in his esteemed “Rooms with a View Showhouse.” The youngest designer ever to partake in the annual exhibition, Allen soon landed on the cover of the New York Times’ Home section. Since then, Allen’s reputation as a smart, sophisticated, and daring designer has continued to blossom.

A master at marrying classic elements with one-of-a-kind pieces, fine art, and bold twists (think bright bursts of color, punchy patterns, and high gloss finishes), Allen’s sumptuously layered interiors are equal parts classic elegance and cutting-edge glamour. Allen, who run his own firm, Sam Allen Interiors in Fairfield County, Connecticut, was named House Beautiful’s Next Wave Designer in 2013 and his clean, comfortable designs have been featured in numerous publications, including Vogue, Luxe Magazine, Domino, Teen Vogue, At Home, Martha’s Vineyard Magazine, and Connecticut Cottages & Gardens. From understated seaside homes to opulent estates, all of Allen’s well-balanced interiors are visually stunning yet incredibly livable.
