Charley Garry
French, 1891 - 1973
Charley Garry was a French painter born in Paris in 1891 and died there in 1973. Trained under Gabriel Ferrier, Jules Adler, and François Flameng, he began exhibiting at major Paris salons from 1912. His work often featured Parisian nightlife scenes—dancers, cabaret performers—as well as nudes, fashionable women, and decorative landscapes. He also worked in poster design and undertook decorative commissions, including painting the ceiling of Brasserie Lipp in 1925 with African‑themed scenes.
