Claus Bonderup is a Danish architect and designer who is best known for his work in the field of lighting design. Born in 1943 in Denmark, Bonderup studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts before beginning his career as an architect.
 
In the 1970s, Bonderup began designing lighting fixtures, collaborating with fellow Danish designer Torsten Thorup. The pair created a number of iconic designs, including the Semi pendant lamp, which features a distinctive half-moon shape.
 
Bonderup's lighting designs are known for their simple, elegant forms and their focus on functionality. He has also designed furniture and other objects, often incorporating clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic.
