Edvard Hagman
Swedish
Edvard Hagman was a distinguished Swedish lighting designer and craftsman active from the 1930s through the 1950s, best known for his elegant brass and elm table and wall lamps. Operating through his company Edvard Hagman AB in Norrköping, he seamlessly blended the refined linear elegance of the Swedish Grace movement with the organic warmth of Scandinavian Modern design. His lamps—often featuring brass leaf motifs, slender elm wood accents, hand-patinated finishes, and fabric shades—became emblematic of mid-century Nordic interiors. Hagman’s works, marked “EHAB” or model numbers like “3886” and “3879,” have consistently appeared in European auctions and premium vintage sales, achieving top prices of over $2,200 for rare models. His legacy endures in museum collections and discerning design circles, celebrated for its timeless craftsmanship and harmonious fusion of form and function.
