Description
This rare table lamp was designed and produced by Edvard Hagman in Sweden in the late 1940s. The foot is marked with the manufacturers initials on the underside of the legs. The classical elegance and intricate craftsmanship of this lamp make it a great continuation of the earlier Swedish Grace movement, just before the emergence of the Swedish Modern era. The lamp features a three-legged base made of patinated brass, with decorative carvings throughout. The lower part of the tall, slender brass stem features a solid elm wood handle. The drum-shaped shade has been updated with a smooth, vermilion-colored fabric.
The lamp is in good original condition, the brass with a natural patina. Renewed shade. Currently with 220V European wiring and an E26/E27 bulb fitting. -
