Emilio Flores

Mexican
Born in 1988 in Monterrey, Mexico, Emilio Flores studied Liberal Arts at the University of Navarra in Spain and later pursued Creative Communication Strategy in Barcelona. His multidisciplinary background informs a sculptural practice rooted in the fragmentation and reassembly of organic forms.

Flores creates powerful bronze sculptures—such as his 2024 series unveiled during Mexico City Art Week—including large-scale pieces like Espina de Flor (a throne-like chair) and mid-sized works like Rapaz, Agua Rápida, and the geometric Ola Techada. Using the lost-wax casting method and rich patinas, he conjures bold, tactile forms that echo structures in nature without directly representing them—evoking themes of growth, decay, memory, and metamorphosis.

His work has been shown in Monterrey, Mexico City, Guadalajara, San Antonio, Barcelona, Shanghai, and prominently with Marion Friedmann Gallery at fairs like Unique Design X in Mexico City. Influenced by his liberal arts training and global creative dialogue, Flores’s sculptures blend craftsmanship with conceptual depth, forging a distinctive path in contemporary bronze art.
