Holger Johansson

Swedish
Holger Johansson was a Swedish lighting designer born in 1920. He founded his own lighting company, Holger Johansson AB, in 1952 in Stockholm. His designs were characterized by their simple and functional forms, often featuring geometric shapes and materials such as metal and glass. Johansson's work was heavily influenced by the Scandinavian design movement of the mid-20th century, which emphasized minimalism, functionality, and the use of natural materials. Some of his most notable designs include the "Comet" and "Pleated" pendant lamps, as well as the "Kuben" table lamp. Johansson's designs are still highly regarded today and have been featured in numerous exhibitions and publications on modern design. He passed away in 1997.
