Jacques Blin

Jacques Blin was a French ceramic artist who worked in the mid-20th century. He was born in 1920 in the city of Metz, in the northeastern part of France. After completing his studies at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg, Blin began working as a ceramicist in the early 1950s.
Blin's ceramic works were known for their sculptural qualities and whimsical, often surrealistic designs. Many of his pieces featured abstracted animal and human forms, as well as other organic and geometric shapes. Blin used a variety of glazes and surface treatments, including sgraffito, carving, and incising, to create intricate patterns and textures on his works.
In addition to his ceramic work, Blin was also an accomplished painter, printmaker, and illustrator. He collaborated with a number of other artists and designers during his career, including Serge Poliakoff and Jacques Adnet. Blin passed away in 1995, but his ceramic works continue to be highly sought after by collectors and admirers of mid-century modern design.
