Marius-Ernest Sabino

French
Marius-Ernest Sabino (1878-1961) was a French artist and designer who was known for his innovative work in the field of decorative arts, particularly in the area of glassware. Sabino's designs were characterized by their use of geometric forms, as well as by the artist's ability to create intricate and detailed patterns using glass.

Sabino was born in Sicily, but his family moved to France when he was a child. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he developed his skills as an artist and designer. In the early 20th century, Sabino began to focus on glassware, and he quickly gained a reputation for his innovative designs and use of new techniques.

Sabino's work was highly influential in the Art Deco movement, and his designs were widely admired for their elegance, beauty, and craftsmanship. Sabino's glassware was used in many high-end interiors, including the luxurious ocean liners of the era, and his designs are still highly sought after by collectors today.

Some of Sabino's most famous designs include his "Poisson" bowl, which features a sculpted glass fish swimming in a bowl of frosted glass, as well as his "Trianon" vase, which is characterized by its intricate, lace-like pattern of glass. Sabino's work can be found in museum collections around the world, including the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
