Raymond Loewy

American, 1893 - 1986
French born American designer Raymond Lowey became known for the magnitude of his designs across multiple industries. Lowey designed for Studebaker, Pennsylvania Railroad and NASA among others. Some of his most famous and well-known designs are the modern day Coca Cola bottle, President John F. Kennedy’s Air Force One and the Greyhound bus. Lowey also designed the legendary Shell and Lucky Strike’s cigarette logos. Raymond Lowey furniture, along with  his other work emphasized the importance of aesthetics as function.
