It is offered here in the publisher’s cream cloth hardcover boards with the original unclipped dust jacket. It is inscribed on the colophon, “Best Wishes, Arnold Palmer,” in black ink.
Written in collaboration with William Barry Furlong, Go For Broke! uses highlights and stories from Palmer’s historic career to offer readers advice on how best to approach and better their own game. The book promises that readers will “learn how to deal with [themselves] and the inevitable changes [they] go through, how to conquer one golf course as opposed to another, how to think the way a thinking professional does.” The book inspires confidence and an aggressive mindset to embrace the challenges of the game.
One of the most recognizable names in golf, Arnold Palmer left both a professional and social impression on the sport. Palmer won 62 PGA Tours, to include 4 Masters titles. His charismatic personality and “go for broke” style captivated the era’s rapidly growing television audience, helping to launch the game's popularity to unprecedented levels.
