Tiffany & Co. Gilt Bronze Rectangular Desk Clock/ Adjustable Tilting Mechanism

An elegant mid-20th-century desk clock by Tiffany & Co., dating to circa 1960, distinguished by its compact rectangular presentation, gilt bronze construction, and finely decorated spherical-form porcelain clock face. Designed as both a functional timepiece and a sophisticated desk accessory, the clock combines luxurious materials with an unusual adjustable mechanism.
The gilt bronze case is presented on a rectangular base incorporating a distinctive articulated tilting mechanism, allowing the clock head to be adjusted upward or downward to achieve the desired viewing angle. This functional feature adds both versatility and visual interest to the otherwise refined and restrained design. The spherical-form clock face is decorated in porcelain and housed within the gilt bronze frame, creating an elegant contrast between the warm metallic finish and the light-colored dial. The face is signed Tiffany & Co. and marked Swiss Made beneath the dial, identifying its Swiss manufacture.
Measuring approximately 4¾ inches long, 4.3 inches high, and 2½ inches deep, the compact proportions make this clock particularly well suited for a writing desk, bedside table, library, or executive office. Its adjustable presentation and distinctive construction also make it an appealing addition to a collection of Tiffany & Co. desk accessories and mid-century timepieces. In good condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use.
