Description
This elegant pair of late 20th-century table lamps features glazed porcelain bodies decorated in a traditional blue and white Chinoiserie style. The scenic decoration showcases architectural structures, trees, and a graceful bridge, evoking the timeless appeal of Chinese-inspired decorative arts. The contrasting cobalt-blue motifs against the white porcelain ground create a refined, classic appearance, while the softly rounded rectangular forms lend each lamp a distinctive silhouette.
Each lamp is mounted on a gilded wooden base with a stepped, geometric profile, adding warmth and traditional elegance to the design. The porcelain body is complemented by a decorative blue and white finial and a cream-colored fabric shade with a gently flared, bell-shaped profile that diffuses the light beautifully.
Dating to circa 1980–1990, this decorative pair reflects the enduring popularity of Chinoiserie furnishings in European and American interiors. The combination of blue and white porcelain, gilt accents, and traditional scenic decoration makes these lamps ideal for placement on matching bedside tables, flanking a sofa or fireplace, or adorning a living room console, bedroom, library, or sophisticated entryway. Their coordinated design creates a harmonious decorative statement, bringing timeless elegance and classic appeal to both traditional and eclectic interiors.
Each lamp measures 21 inches high overall, with a porcelain body approximately 9 inches wide and 7 inches deep. Each shade measures 11 inches in height, 14 inches in diameter at the bottom, and 10 inches in diameter at the top. The pair is in good condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use. -
