Description
This exquisite pair of 18th Century Louis XV oak blanc du roi-painted and floral-carved boiserie panels are from a French interior, c. 1760’s. The pair of gilt-metal three-arm “cattail” sconces is a later addition, c. 1900’s. Boiserie, the French term for finely-sculptured wood paneling or wainscoting, that envelop the walls of elegant French interiors. Blanc du Roi, or “King’s White,” refers to the white color palette used to better feature the richly-carved details which are highlighted here in a beautiful pale blue. These panels would provide a spectacular focal point, while also unifying the decor of your interior space!
