Description
These original large scale Stan Bitters ceramic Scratch pots have a presence that embodies the California landscape and an essence that artfully complements the plants they hold. Hand-built and organic, these pots conjure up images of the master ceramicist at work. The irregularity of the shape makes it a perfect addition to bring the outside in.

About the Designer:
In 1959 Stan Bitters went to work for Hans Sumpf, an adobe brick manufacturer in Madera, CA where he created architectural murals, tiles, bird houses, planters and sculptural objects.
Stan Bitters' career in ceramics has spanned six decades. In 1959 Stan Bitters went to work for Hans Sumpf, an adobe brick manufacturer in Madera, CA where he created architectural murals, tiles, bird houses, planters and sculptural objects. His large scale installations can still be experienced in public spaces, banks, hotels, schools, churches, industrial complexes, and private residences. His influence has been present in the language of California architecture since the 1960's. -
