This powerfully scaled and materially gorgeous Mid-Century Modernist Ceramic Striated Burnt Umber Vase is signed by Aleph Hammer and originates from Germany, Circa 1970. Features an oval profile when viewed from the front with a beautifully convex rounded surface featuring a gradient of yellow ochre in the center to a deep raw umber hue on the outermost edges, with an expressive and energetic striated motif in burnt umber which dances within and occupies the center, capturing the eye and rewarding prolonged viewing and appreciation. The sides of the vase are most narrow in the center then subtly expand near the bottom and top eges, providing a solid yet minimal base and mouth. This piece is signed on the undersurface denoting the maker, and will style beautifully in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Minimal Interiors. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
