Antique French Cast Iron Scale

Description
This cast iron scale was made in France, circa 1900. A ubiquitous classic in the home or the market, scales of these dimensions were commonly used to weigh fruits and vegetables. Fully functional, the scale is equipped with brass weighing pans, their golden color providing a subtle contrast to the painted cast iron. The trays are set on a plinth-like base, a timeworn patina enhancing the dark tone.
