Description
France c 1805.
An Early 19th Century Rare Neoclassical Free Standing Bust of Napoleon Bonaparte Executed in Well Patinated Wood. The sculpturing of such a high standard and styling suggesting the hand of Antoine Denis Chaudet 1763-1810. Very Likely a Maquette.

Literature: Our research has uncovered many marble sculptures of Bonaparte - this one resembling closely to the marble bust by Chaudet . It is quite possible a Maquette for a following execution. -
