Description
A superb example of Charles Schneider's celebrated Tango glass, this compote/tazza features a wide, shallow flaring bowl in Schneider's signature vibrant orange-red "Tango" glass, raised on a contrasting acid-yellow applied foot with a compressed, ribbed knop stem. The dramatic color-blocking between the warm coral-orange bowl and citrine-yellow base is a hallmark of Schneider's most sought-after Tango line, introduced in the late 1920s and considered among the most visually bold expressions of French Art Deco glassmaking.

Tango glass, developed by Schneider in response to the bright, jazz-age palette sweeping French decorative arts, is prized today for its bold, saturated color contrasts and confident, uncluttered forms — this tazza's wide sweeping bowl and sculptural pedestal foot exemplify the clean geometry the line is known for.
