Galerie Maison & Jardin bamboo marquetry brass trunk 1970
-
Description
Beautiful Galerie Maison & Jardin trunk from the early 1970s. Natural bamboo as the chief material, the patterned marquetry creates a beautiful symmetry, with an organic aesthetic, while the bright asian inspired brass handle adds an eye-catching touch. The design is typical French Riviera, bamboo and brass being Galerie Maison & Jardin signature in the 1950s to 1970s. The inside has been reupholstered with a black silk and linen with botanical imagery from Sahco. The trunk has been fully restored, revarnished, brass clean and repolished, and is found in an amazing condition. A collectible piece, with a very nice decorative presence.
