Description
An impressive Italian antique ornamental urn dating to the late 19th century, crafted in gray/green marble with beautiful natural veining and enriched with finely cast gilt-bronze mounts. The elegant contrast between the cool tones of the marble and the warm golden finish of the bronze creates a refined and timeless decorative statement. The urn features a classically inspired baluster-shaped body with a slender neck, attached domed lid, and an ornamental finial. The body is embellished with elaborate gilt-bronze mounts, including a prominent central foliate ornament, scrolling side mounts, and graceful garland-like swags that accentuate its elegant contours. Additional gilt-bronze detailing highlights the rim and neck, while the urn rests on a squared bronze frame base measuring approximately 8.5 by 8.5 inches.
Standing approximately 45 inches tall and 15 inches wide, this substantial decorative piece reflects the enduring influence of the Louis XVI style and the refined craftsmanship of late 19th-century Italian decorative arts. Its impressive proportions and classical detailing make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings, where it can be displayed as a striking focal point in an entryway, garden, terrace, or formal living space. Versatile and timeless, it complements a variety of interiors and decorative styles, from traditional European settings to more eclectic and contemporary -
