Description
Here is a beautiful decorative late 19th C pharmacist hand-blown dispensing/display glass jar of considerable size. The pot is reverse-painted by hand with a white ground and gilt detailing. There is some loss to the paintwork, adding to its charm and the overall decorative quality. The jar is decorated with the Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom. The painter added an extra banner beneath the crest, with the word MAGNESIA. The lid of the jar is dark blue, covered in a pattern of gold leaves. The pot is probably produced by Lynch & Co for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
