Description
A Dutch modernist dolls house table designed by Ko Verzuu for ADO c.1925. In 1918 Ko Verzuu was architectural supervisor for the City of Utrecht, The Netherlands. In 1925 he was appointed head of the men's work therapy at the Berg en Bosch sanatorium for recovering TB patient workers. Verzuu inspired by Rietveld & the Dutch modernist movement De Stijl, began designing a range of dolls house furniture, toy cars & trucks which were then made by the patients. They were very successfully sold under the ADO brand. (ADO an acronym from the Dutch for 'Work by the Handicapped'.) Today these very attractive abstract toys are quite rare.
