Description
This stunning modernist polychromatic caste acrylic abstract sculpture was realized by the esteemed artist Norman Mercer in the United States circa 1990. It features a volumetric cylindrical form with a demilune depressions creating a scalloped silhouette. Cast in translucent acrylic the piece offers a kaleidoscopic array of chromatic brilliance- in jewel tones of emerald, amethyst and orange garnet- emanating from within. The sculptural undulating silhouette refracts the polychrome tones in the center imbuing the piece with a wonderfully interactive and dynamic quality, and creating a visual feast of color and form. With its radiant color palate, clean modernist lines and graphic form, this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of first rate modern art as well as those with a penchant for rare and exquisite objects. This piece hails from the estate of Norman Mercer and is in excellent vintage condition.
