Description
This exceptional chandelier in Lalique’s iconic Champs Élysées motif in rendered in sculpted, frosted crystal leaves, recalling the chestnut trees lining the famous Parisian avenue. Each crystal element is finely cast and acid‑frosted, producing a soft, velvety surface that diffuses light into a gentle, atmospheric glow.
Arranged in a dynamic, the leaves radiate outward from the central body, creating strong sculptural presence while maintaining a sense of airiness and transparency. When illuminated, the detailed veining and subtle gradations in the crystal come alive, emphasizing Lalique’s hallmark interplay of light, shadow, and texture.
Suspended from a refined rectilinear metal structure in Bimetal Nickel W/Brass Clip Detailing, the chandelier balances mid-century modernist clarity with classical French elegance. Fully signed, it represents the postwar continuation of the Lalique legacy—where high artisanal crystal work meets modern interior sensibility—making it both a functional light source and a museum‑level statement piece. Newly rewired to American Standards, this chandelier accommodates Six Candelabra Base Bulbs achieving up to 360 watts of light.Height can be adjusted to suit. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
