Description
This exquisite Art Deco ceramic vase is a prime example of the iconic Skyscraper style, showcasing the geometric elegance and streamlined forms characteristic of the 1920s. Crafted by Pierrefonds, a renowned French ceramic studio celebrated for its innovative glazes, this vase embodies the artistic sophistication of the Art Deco era.
The vase boasts a tiered architecture-inspired silhouette, with sharp, angular lines reminiscent of skyscrapers that were symbolic of modernity and progress during the Jazz Age. Its bold design is complemented by an organic speckled blue textural glaze, a distinctive hallmark of the Pierrefonds studio. The glaze features hues that range from deep cobalt to lighter azure tones, creating a dynamic visual texture that evokes natural elements like water or stone.
The artistry of this vase reflects the seamless marriage of modernist form and organic materials, a hallmark of Pierrefonds' work during this time. Designed as a decorative object, it serves as a sculptural focal point for both vintage-inspired and contemporary interiors. Bearing a stamped signature on the undersurface denoting the maker, this piece is in Excellent Vintage Condition.
