Rare poster map issued for the 1915 San Francisco World’s Fair. Published by The Owl Drug Company in 1911, it was intended to give an impression of the exposition grounds. It shows a panoramic view of the exposition site as seen from San Francisco Bay. The depiction is presented as an exaggerated bird’s-eye view looking south, with neighborhoods and landmarks not drawn to scale but deliberately rearranged and emphasized for visual impact.

At the center is the planned exposition site, surrounded by areas such as the Presidio and Golden Gate Park. Also shown are the waterfront district with the Ferry Building, prominent landmarks like Telegraph Hill, and the Civic Center. The composition is further completed with additional civic buildings, hotels, and a stadium within the park. Within the Presidio area, an “Intermural Rail Road Station” is also marked. A notable detail is the inclusion of early aviation imagery: airplanes appear between the Presidio and Harbor View, along with a dirigible off the coast near Seal Rock, integrated into the scene.

Apart from a small hole and a minor tear, the poster is otherwise intact and in very good condition. We have made every effort to document its condition accurately and believe this has been successfully achieved.
