Description
An extremely rare sterling silver vide poche figural dish modeled as a Flying Bat. Fully hallmarked and made by John Robert Harris , London c. 1874.
Bats ( or Fledermaus) have long been a symbol of Good Luck and Fortune in many cultures. In addition, they provide benefits by consuming vast numbers of insects , while serving as crucial pollinators for many plants and dispersing seeds that aid in regenerating forests and ecosystems. They are the unsung heroes to farmers whose crops are protected by bats consuming insects and pests. -
