An extremely rare sterling silver vide poche figural dish modeled as a Flying Bat. Fully hallmarked and made by John Robert Harris , London c. 1874.

Bats ( or Fledermaus) have long been a symbol of Good Luck and Fortune in many cultures. In addition, they provide benefits by consuming vast numbers of insects , while serving as crucial pollinators for many plants and dispersing seeds that aid in regenerating forests and ecosystems.
