Description
The deep red field shows an up-to-date version of the classical 16th century jungle and animal carpet design with a central medallion from which emerge four dragons, palmettes, some enclosing animals, snaky cloud bands, animal combats and various ramping animals, along with some vigorous vinery. Cream border with broad strapwork meander connecting reversing oval palmettes, also in the classical manner. Well woven, urban-style. Cotton foundation. As new condition.
