Description
In a "book-cover" design, with an open ivory field, pointed at the ends, supporting a stepped navy Herati medallion with birds perched on the pendant tips. Light blue extended corners with broken vinery, palmettes and rosettes. Madder red strip-style main border with the Zanbaki design of square rosettes, tilted irises and upright barbed leaves. Plain cream outermost surround. Heavy, robust and compact, with a short pile of outstanding wool. Kurdish city work. Medium weave. God condition.
