A large blue and white Phoenix roundel bowl, Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period. Collection of the Sixth president of United States, John Quincy Adams (1767-1848). The base with an apocryphal Chenghua Six-Character mark in underglaze blue within a double circle, wood stand. Provenance: Collection of the sixth president of the United States, John Quincy Adams (1767-1848) (by repute). Collection of Mrs. L Garner. Collection of Harold. L. Geiger (1904-1992), and thence by descent.
