Description
Dimensions: 8-3/4?H x 22-1/4?W x 20?D
A lovely glazed terra cotta cream bowl from 19th century France. This earthen bowl, also known as a pancheon, was used to stand milk while the cream separates. The cream is then poured off the top with the small spout found on the pot’s lip. This antique bowl is in excellent condition, with both handles intact. The interior has been glazed a beautiful ochre yellow. This glaze prevented the milk from being absorbed by the terra cotta. Today, this wonderful bowl would make a fantastic fruit bowl or decorative object about the house. -
