Description
An elegant centerpiece crafted in faceted crystal, burnished brass, and nickel-plated brass, model 2331 from the prestigious Fontana Arte manufacturing, designed by the renowned Max Ingrand.
This decorative object, suitable for both a professional setting and a domestic space, encapsulates the essence of the French artist's stylistic exploration. Max Ingrand left an indelible mark on 20th-century style by fully leveraging the potential of glass.
The centerpiece features a refined crystal disk, adorned with a base of intentionally burnished brass. This carefully chosen finish aims to not distract the observer, allowing the captivating reflections of the crystal to be fully appreciated. The masterful grinding that softens the surface of the centerpiece also enables one to perceive the material's thickness and its distinctive color.
These thoughtful details and the meticulous attention to perfection reflect Ingrand's dedication to precision, highlighting the personal touch that the artist brought to Fontana Arte's production for years. The Italian manufacturing, founded by Gio Ponti, saw collaboration with the French designer, who served as its artistic director.
The centerpiece is documented in Fontana Arte notebooks No. 6 from 1964, identified as model 2331 and boasting dimensions of 9x34 cm. -
