Description
Established in Venice in 1846, Missiaglia is one of the world's premier makers of the finest jewelry objects, as well as a select number of bespoke sterling silver tabletop accessories. This handcrafted stylized sea dolphin shaker and pepper mill showcase the skill of Missiaglia's artisans in rendering life-like plant and animal forms in pure sterling silver. The pieces depict stylized dolphins (fantastical sea monsters) wrapping around tridents. They are replete with incredible details including striated tails and fins, and incredibly fine demilune form scales. The pepper grind also has a small snail shell on the neck of the trident (one of Missiaglia's signature motifs). Quite simply, these are the finest tabletop products that money can buy. These salt and pepper shakers would surely have been the choice of the Medicis. They are signed Missiaglia and stamped Sterling .925. Mint condition.
