Description
Three Kangxi/Yongzheng plates decorated in underglaze blue, iron red, green black and gold with a border of chrysanthemum blossoms among stylized branches framing a half-open scroll, central scene of a bird perched on a prunus branch opposite a cluster of bamboo, three floral sprays on the reverse, honey-brown edge on the rim. The use of an open scroll as the frame for a decorative scene probably originates with the Japanese.
