René Perrot “La Vague” Tapestry
René Perrot’s tapestry, “La Vague” (The Wave), stands as a captivating masterpiece that captures the imaginative vision and distinctive artistic expression of this esteemed artist.
Renowned for his exceptional tapestry designs, Perrot has produced over 400 original cartoons, replicated in numerous copies at prestigious tapestry workshops such as Felletin, Aubusson, and Gobelins. His artistic contributions have been commissioned by both governmental and private entities, playing a pivotal role in the resurgence of the tapestry art form.
Adorning the homes of art enthusiasts, private collectors, museums, and major corporations—including JP Morgan and Air France—Perrot’s tapestries and rugs have garnered widespread appreciation. In a significant aviation milestone in 1967, he left an indelible mark by embellishing the first-class cabin of Air France’s Boeing 707 and the JFK airport lounges in New York with three monumental hangings spanning nearly 30 square meters. -
