Stunning wall-hanging "Ming" plaque in patinated bronze and pewter with hand-applied enamels by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (etched “P+K LaVerne” on bottom).This work of art was typically incorporated into a small table. This wall hanging version is unique and rare. The coloration is superb.

Sculpture, Bronze and Pewter Tables, The Art of Philip LaVerne catalog with gold and white cover published in the 1960’s, page 8 shows a photo of 2 tables with tops from this series. In the back of the catalog is a description which reads: “MING #131 PAIR:
The extraordinary artistry of the Ming Period is superbly captured…. The traditional Ming warrior holding the invincible sword is carved of bronze and pewter.”
